Are The Russians Humans Too?

Today, March 11, 2022, woke fascism has escalated to an absolutely despicable and dangerous new level.
Facebook has anounced that they will allow calls for violence against Russians and Russian soldiers.

In an update facebook stated that it “still won’t allow credible calls for violence against Russian civilians” but the fact that they put out such statements in the first place tells you how far they have gone.
Sadly, some “conservatives” and “patriots” have joined the woke fascists in their anti-Russia hysteria.
It’s only a small step from Russians to domestic political enemies. Perhaps “far-right-terrorists” aka conservatives will be next.
The way the Left normalizes violence is freightening and dangerous. Equally dangeous is that many on the right join the Russia hate hysteria.

I find this dehumanization of Russians and the cancelling, boycott and banning of anything that is even remotely Russian, pathetic and disgusting.
Russian artists, students and even dead Russian authors are cancelled/banned. The university of Milan tried to ban the teaching of the great (dead) Russian author Fyodor Dostoevsky.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, facebook will allow the praise of the Ukrainian nazi Azov battalion.
And no, that’s not Russian propaganda. The history of the Azov battalion is well documented.

“Who are the Azov Battalion?

Azov Special Operations Detachment (Ukrainian: Окремий загін спеціального призначення «Азов»), or Azov Battalion, is a right-wing extremist and neo-Nazi unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, based in Mariupol, in the Azov Sea coastal region.

In 2014, the regiment gained notoriety after allegations emerged of torture and war crimes, as well as neo-Nazi sympathies and usage of associated symbols by the regiment itself, as seen in their logo featuring the Wolfsangel, one of the original symbols used by the 2nd SS Panzer Division Das Reich.”

“In 2014, a spokesman for the regiment said around 10–20% of the unit were neo-Nazis.

In 2018, a provision in an appropriations bill passed by the U.S. Congress blocked military aid to Azov on the grounds of its white supremacist ideology; in 2015, a similar ban on aid to the group was overturned by the Congress.”

I wonder, what Holocaust survivors would think about Mark Zuckerberg when he, himself a Jew, allows the praise of a nazi battallion on his platform.

To be perfectly clear: Putin is a ruthless thug and Ukrainians are not nazis
However, the way Russians are dehumanized and every questionable aspect of Ukrainian politics is swept under the rug is, frankly, disgusting.

Dr. Lidiya Angelova asks the provocative quesion: “Are The Russians Humans Too?”
Given the circumstances it’s absolutely necessary to ask this question and I applaud her for doing it.
She asks some other interesting questions and she gives also some other interesting answers.
I don’t agree on everything she writes, heck, I might even disagree on many things.
I just skimmed over her blog
Regardless, I agree on the one thing that matters most to me: Our common humanity and the principle that people should be judged as individuals, not as a collective.

Boycott anything Russian is the newest woke dumb motto. The fake pandemic is no longer on the top pages; now, Russia is the virus, i.e. evil; boycott anything from Russia, and Russia will strike you with nuclear weapons. It’s strange since America has done and continues to do heinous things in Africa and Asia, but you won’t hear anything about boycotting America and the Americans.

People who boycott Russia are actually making ordinary Russians’ lives more difficult. Russians, who are human beings like us, are unable to go abroad, make foreign bank transfers, or sell their products.

Did they start the Ukrainian conflict? NO! It began with American…

  1. Completely irrelevant!
This post is NOT about Putin. It’s about Russians in general and Russian civilians in particular and how we treat them.
I disagree with you on Putin but that’s not the point.
If you believe that cancelling Russian opera singers ends/prevents a war, you’ve got to be out of your mind.
Not teaching Dostoevsky at the univerisity will surely prevent WW3. What a joke.

  2. Russian people are great people, the only difference with this war to the many others around the world is that Putin has the ability and warped mentality of creating a nuclear holocaust, plus he also has the ability of using chemical weapons turning Ukraine into a massive grave yard and ultimately starting a third world war that will end all wars.
