If you have never heared of the term Paperism, don’t worry.
It’s a term I’ve just made up. Paperism is the belief in the magical power of paper.
In partcular it perfectly describes the illness of Europe’s elites, especially the “progressives”, lefists and socialists. These champions of multiculturalism believe that the religion and culture of the illegal immigrants they are flooding Europe with doesn’t matter because, after all, we have laws and constitutions that protect and govern our states. As if our laws and constitutions have magical powers in and of themselves. Any law and constitution, even the best one, is a worthless piece of paper without people who respect, enforce and protect it.
So, flooding your country with people who don’t give an excrement about your laws and constitution is a sure recipe for disaster.
Throughout history multiculturalism has never worked. At best, diverse ethnicities, cultures and religions have lived under a dominant culture. Examples are the Roman empire or the Austro-Hungarian empire.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand this.
If you are an older guy like me, you might remember Microsoft’s Windows 3.1.
This operating system was notorious for crashing frequently because it was the equivalent of multiculturalism in the computer world. It employed something called cooperative multitasking. Multitasking, the ability of running multiple programs on the same computer at the same time, was achieved in the following manner. A program would run for some milliseconds and then it would relinquish control of the CPU to the operating system which in turn would give control of the CPU to another program.
All this worked only if the programs played by the rules. If a program didn’t play by the rules either because the programmer made a mistake (most of the times) or because he just didn’t give a damn about the rules, Windows crashed.
Modern multitasking systems are preemptive, meaning that the operating system interrupts a program and gives control of the CPU to another program. The operating system has the ultimate control of the CPU and the memory.
After this short excursion into the computer world, some words about Donald Trump who with all his flaws is infinitely better than Hillary Clinton. I’m not a believer in isolationism but Trump makes a good case for his kind of isolationism. Let’s face it. Obavez, Mister-peace-in-our-time, is himself a kind of isolationist. He is always an isolationist when it comes to retreating from Islam and creating a vacuum that the most savage and barbaric muslims use in order to spread islam in its original form. He is only an interventionist when it comes to toppling regimes that are insufficiently islamic. With his former seretary of state, Clinton, we can expect more of the same.
Anyway, the Left should love Trump for his isolationism. Isn’t according to them America’s meddling in other countries the root of all terrorism, violence, evil and poverty in the world?
At the same time the Left itself wants global governance and it wants to impose laws and regulations, for example regarding climate change, reduction of poverty (aka wealth redistribution) etc. on all countries of the world.
This brings us to the mother of all paperisms. The belief that global laws and regulations have magical powers in and of themselves. They are worthless pieces of papers unless there is a power big enough to enforce them globally.
That, of course would create all the problems that are the result of meddling in other countries.
Surely, one has to be nuts to be a good leftist.
